Dear Friend and Neighbor,

​It’s an honor to serve as your State Representative for Wailua, Kapa‘a, Kealia, Anahola, Moloa’a, Kīlauea, Princeville, Hanalei and Hā‘ena.

As your State Representative, I’ve prioritized the building of affordable housing, supporting our public education system, diversifying our economy, and caring for our lands and waters. I’m extremely proud that together, we have:
​

• Turned Hā‘ena State Park into a model of destination management for our State;
• Completed the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital master plan and are beginning to implement the plan;
• Assisted stewards of our streams on east and north shores to remove invasive species, promote agriculture, and improve recreational uses;
• Reduced the population of invasive rose-ringed parakeets on Kaua‘i;
• Increased funding for after-school and summer programs throughout the State;
• Added an additional lane in front of Coco Palms and constructed the Kealia roundabout; and
• Worked with the County to lay the foundation for the first mobility hub at Coconut Marketplace

​For the last two years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as Majority Leader, with the support of 45 representatives from around the State of Hawai‘i.  Although we have worked hard to increase the minimum wage, increase tax credits for child and dependent care, double the GET food tax credit, increase the amount of funding for affordable housing and homelessness programs, increase public school teacher salaries, and increase Pre-K classes, much more work needs to be done.

I plan to run for re-election in 2024 and humbly ask for your support so we can continue to work together and find solutions to vexing problems in District 15, Kaua‘i, and State of Hawai‘i.
